Namma Bengaluru !

After almost 2 months in this city … have finally come to calling it “namma” bengaluru ! I like Bangalore … though not as much as the sweaty Mumbai … but its Bangalore.

A few things about this place you can never miss -

  • Corner House and its Death by Chocolate
  • Insane no. of cafe coffee days (CCDs)
  • Peace at Crossword and Landmark outlets
  • Wondering what the right fare is for a bus ticket, with myriad varities of buses. But a daily pass of 30 bucks comes in handy during a weekend wander.
  • Unique ISKCON, which is weird with its mall and multiplex appeal.
  • 60 bucks for a morning show at PVR and INOX !
  • Fudkoo native bangloreans always cribbing about how the IT wave has ruined the beautiful green city… once upon a blah !
  • Insane no. of pani puri stalls
  • Unlimited bakery shops ( the honey cake is awesome .. owe it to you … amruth )
  • Dont know how such huge no. of Liquor shops get customers. (had to search 15 mins for a medical shop near my place and found 7 liquor shops during the ordeal)
  • IIM Bangalore
  • Junta are seen with their badges/pass dangling around their neck or waist belt … shouting -” I work at Infosys / Satyam/ blah”. Even dogs would take their belt off while travelling back home !
  • Traffic … on roads during weekdays; suddenly disappears during weekend eves ! Never seen that in any other city :)
  • Over enthued rich professionals portraying their civic side ever so proudly by using a bicycle instead of their Honda Accord
  • Nandhini outlets (they are good)
  • Bannerughatta National Park and WildlifeSOS
  • Fundoo airport charging you 250 bucks more for its fundooness but worth the good bus service provided at reasonable rate.
  • Loads of barcamps, headsart.in, tweetups, blog meets and other such online (virtual) self meet real friends meet happen here !
  • The worst Auto service seen … though after Chennai :) … Why double ??
  • Total SHUT DOWN at 10 pm …. You must be kidding me ?!

(will keep adding more as and when come across more pointers… and I believe there are bound to be more … since looking to meet more people …as my friends advise me to join a dancing class to meet more people (Gals) !)
