You either die a hero

… or live long enough to see yourself become a villain.

Is this a more blunt version of saying “Things Change … people change, & so did I”?

Time flies. You realise, not suddenly though, that you gave in, made a choice inclined towards those that seem more sane by societal standards and NOW by yours too. Perfectly fine; says Dan Gilbert here. I personally have hardly seen a couple of people who have stood there, like Stone-henge.

Coming back - Wonder, what drives you to make a particular choice. You may say, ’ My beliefs, things that I love or ? Is it the surrounding habitat?

Does it really bother eventually, I ask. As the conventional or orthodox school of thought shouts out loud - “all you need to care about is how you do what you are doing. If you give in your 100%; God would take care of the rest. Why so much fuss about it. If what you love doesn’t come your way, begin loving what you have.” they say and all the rest optimism crap.

However, people now prefer thinking like- “I need to figure out stuff and then make a choice. Need to know what I love” and rest of the quarter-life crisis crap.

Now you all know it, but still - its majorly a generation gap. Three decades ago, you couldn’t choose between GoAir and Rajdhani, you had to go by GaribRath. You couldn’t post your videos/comments/scraps/pics/tweets n blah on the web, could just get a government job ! You couldn’t question a senior in your family, you weren’t, never ever given a choice. So all you could do was… give 100% and become cool at it. Now … well, you need to think so much to choose between a Karizma or Pulsar or Apache or Nano or Fazer? A dish TV or Tata Sky, a roadside Dhabeli or a Jumbo Wadapaav. Its instilled in us to question and analyze and read reviews for every decision we make, because we have the cushion of making more than one choices. So, question here is … could we just make a choice and become Cool at it? (as long as it isnt something you really hate)

There is a huge element of ‘Real’ & ‘Synthetic’ Happiness involved in here as Dan says. BUT …
